RIAU24.COM - Recently a video went viral showing a qariah named Nadia Hawasyi being watched while chanting the holy verses of the Qur'an.

The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) then condemned the saweran action against the qariah.

From the video circulated on Thursday (5/1/2023) yesterday, Nadia Hawasyi was reading the Qur'an at a Maulid event of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in Pandeglang Regency, Banten.

Nadia married a man named Firmansyah on August 29, 2021. Firmansyah is a tilawah singer who once participated in the 10th MTQ of South Tangerang City and came out as the third winner.

Nadia Hawasyi revealed that she initially did not know that the committee would visit her when she was studying. When she was in the same position, Nadia had not finished chanting the holy verses of the Qur'an.

"I didn't know that when I paid the committee both men and women would see me. And when I was in that position, I was still paying, not finished," said Nadia on Thursday (5/1/2023).

"There is no way I want to immediately reprimand or I immediately stop coming off the stage because it includes adab in reading the Qur'an," continued Nadia.

Nadia admitted that she actually felt upset because she was being bullied while she was studying. After finishing reading the Qur'an, Nadia immediately stepped off the stage and reprimanded the organizers of the event.

"When I was sawer I was really angry and very upset, not long after I was sworn in, I immediately sodaqallah, got off the stage, I immediately reprimanded the committee. So actually, the wrong committee, does not respect us as readers of the Qur'an," he said.
